(Philadelphia, PA) – February 17, 2010 – MirrorMateMitts™ water-repellent, vehicle side view mirror covers, are being introduced and sold in four locations of the ten-store The Fresh Grocer supermarket chain. This is the first retail chain presence for the mirror covers, which protect against snow, ice, frost and scuffs, and are currently sold online.
The MirrorMateMitts™ (MMMs) are the invention of Sid Holmes, whose company MMM Tech, LLC, sells the product through the company’s online store website, www.mirrormatemitts.com
An ‘accidental’ entrepreneur, Holmes began selling the MMMs in between being laid off and finding another job. The covers were an idea he had thought up years earlier but never had the opportunity to develop. “Being unemployed is the ideal time to start a business,” he advises. “Take advantage of the free time while you have it.”
The MirrorMateMitts™ are packaged with a unique cardboard insert that hangs from a clip, allowing the consumer to freely examine the covers for fit. The stores where MMMs are available are Walnut Street, 4001 Walnut Street on the UPenn campus, 56th Street at 5601 Chestnut Street, Progress Plaza at 1501 N. Broad Street, and The Shoppes at LaSalle, 5301 Chew Avenue. The Fresh Grocer has 10 supermarkets in the Philadelphia region.
